BMO transformed a former department store in the CF Toronto Eaton Centre into a state-of-the-art workplace and learning hub in the core of the city. This innovative office space consolidates over 3,000 employees on expansive floorplates by providing open access throughout the building. BMO repurposed existing escalators for cross-collaboration, built two 100-foot-high atriums for natural daylight, and incorporated top-tier accessibility measures. The design supports hybrid working through shared unassigned seating and Teams enabled video conferencing in all meeting rooms. The building draws employees back into the office by offering roof top terraces, wellness center’s, recreation room, barista bar and a large 500 person presentation hall and learning centre.
This revitalized environment is already reshaping the work experience for BMO’s staff, aligning with the bank’s core objective of establishing a digitally enabled, future-ready, collaborative, and inclusive workplace.

It also incorporates a lower carbon cooling solution through their district energy services partner Enwave and targets LEED Gold certification
